Minstrel
Productions was founded a quarter of a century ago in order to bring together
talented instrumentalists to perform works of the 18th, 19th,
and 20th centuries. It has promoted concerts all over the United
Kingdom, Europe, and the Far East, and indeed has a sister association
based in Japan.
Several
dozen concerts have been presented in the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the
Purcell Room, Royal Festival Hall, London. One of its largest undertakings
was a seven concert series at the Royal Festival Hall dedicated to the
18th century Pleasure Gardens of London, which included a series
devoted to the English song, and the staging of four 18th century
English music theatre operas.
It
acts as co-administrator of the Annual International East Anglia Summer
Music Festival based at Hadleigh in Suffolk, and its future plans include
a cycle of the 27 Mozart Piano Concerti.
